Yes, folks, victory. For you see... I got a pay raise at work!
I seem to be very fortunate in my timing as of late. Everyone is leaving the company again, and if I hadn't recieved this pay raise I would have been one of the many. So far, I've managed to get my pay increased by 30% over the past year and a half. That would be impressive in some instances, but after my 30% increase that I've worked for, I'm merely making what someone in my position should have been making from the beginning.
Don't get me wrong, I enjoy going to work and I like the people I work with, but the overall company needs to awaken and realize what time period we're in, and start paying accordingly. I'm content now for the moment, but in all honesty, I don't see myself working for this company in ten years... in fact, five might also be a bit much.
But that's 5-10 years down the road. Right now I'm a man with more money in his pocket per hour and that's always something to toast to!

To all the men and women in the struggle, day after day. We're all running on the same hamster wheel for a pellet, trying to get that piece of the dream. One rung at a time, climbing to the middle(lol)! Well, today I got one rung higher and damned if it doesn't make the air taste sweeter and the sun shine brighter on my face! Nothings makes a person feel better than to see their stock rise, to see their daily expenses become ever so slightly less expensive. It's all we want, it's all we ask for. Well, brothers and sisters, I got one more crumb and in a few more years I might just have myself a cupcake! Cheers to us all!
